About this project.
I grew up on Long Island, New York during the 70’s-90’s and I always loved the BIG, colorful, detailed graffiti pieces on trains. I never picked up a can, myself, but I’ve always been a fan of the talent and the sudden, brief beauty of the medium.
I’ve lived in Crookston, MN for several years and, with the beet plant and other agriculture in the region, there’s a slow but steady stream of trains coming in and out of the area. When I realized I would miss seeing some of my favorite pieces if (when!) they disappeared, I started documenting them and, eventually, I decided to turn it into a formal project.
I mainly cover Crookston, Minnesota, and along Hwy. 75 S., up till Climax. All posted pictures are taken by me.
